/smoke

supernova monte carlo light curves

Primary LanguageC++

Get the code
----------------------------
copy over the code
cp /project/projectdirs/training/HIPACC_2011/kasen/smoke.tar.gz ./

copy it into your directory and untar it
tar -zxvf smoke.tar.gz

Compile the code
-------------------------------
you need the gnu scientific library (gsl). On hopper, use:
module load gsl

Or download at compile it at
http://www.gnu.org/software/gsl/

go into the src/ directory and type "make"

copy over the executable
cp smoke ../run

Run the code
----------------------------

edit hopper.run batch file and
qsub hopper.run

Output of the code, columns
--------------------------
time(days) [mu=cos(theta)] [phi] optical_lum gamma-ray_dep gamma-ray_lum ni56_lum particle count

All luminosities and depositions in ergs/sec
The [mu] column will only appear if the number of theta viewing angles is n_mu > 1
Same for phi

Gamma-ray deposition
--------------------

The code also dumps a file called dep.dat. The columns are

----------------------------------------
velocity (km/s) energy deposited (MeV)
      ... ...
----------------------------------------

Currently it maps the 3-D results to 1-D spherical.
