Azure Health Data Service FHIR Sandboxes

This repository contains Azure Developer CLI (azd) templates to deploy Azure Health Data Service (AHDS) FHIR sandbox environments for commonly used scenarios.

Each scenario contains detailed setup instructions.

Prerequistes for all Scenarios

• Windows Subsystem for Linux or a Linux distribution
• Azure CLI
• Azure Developer CLI
• Visual Studio Code
• Make sure you have this repository cloned and up to date on your local system.

Sandbox Scenarios

• Scenario 1: FHIR with Postman [In Progress]

  • A sample AHDS FHIR Service with instructions to set up a Postman collection to test the FHIR APIs locally.

• Scenario 2: Ingest with OSS FHIR Loader

  • A sample AHDS FHIR Service that uses the FHIR Bulk Loader to import fictitious FHIR Resources generated by the Synthea Patient Data Generator.

• Scenario 3: HL7 Conversion with Azure Data Factory (In Progress)

  • A sample AHDS FHIR Service using Azure Data Factory to convert HL7 messages into FHIR Resources.
