This is a simple Chrome extensions which adds a browser action and a context menu item.
The Browser Action will open a new Gmail compose window.
The Context Menu takes any selected text and adds it to the To: field of the new email.

Because this isn't hosted on the Chrome web store, follow the instructions below to install.
- Use the "Download .zip" button at the right side of this screen.
- Unzip the file and save it somewhere on your computer (the desktop is fine).
- Open a new tab in Chrome
- Type in:
chrome:extensions - Put Chrome into Developer Mode by clicking the checkbox in the top right.
- Click and drag the file you downloaded to the Chrome extensions page to install.
Note that this method will not automatically update the extension if updates are made.
