Common Repository for the Workshop Towards New Horizons in Digital Humanities: Multimodal Approaches for Visual Media
This repository is used to collect material from our hackathon and is intended to foster further collaboration. Some presentation slides are here. If you want to join, please send your Github handle to Gernot Howanitz so that we can add you to our organization.
Fun stuff we tried:
- Install OpenFace on OSX (preliminary howto here)
- Using OpenFace on recent film teasers, videos of theater performances and Russian TV news and talkshows
- Using OpenPose on videos from aphasic people
- Using Detectron with a custom-trained model on a new image corpus (pictures taken from social media)
- Visualising dominant colors in a picture (sample notebook here)
- Using Detectron's object recognition on book illustrations
- Experimenting with PixPlot visualisations (fork with added functionality here)
