DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT

Your parents are very busy at work and they get home really late. They miss the news update and they are frustrated since they are not upto date with the current affairs. As a developer I'll use my skills and prowesss to remedy this problem. FLASK-NEWS-API is an application that will help them list and preview news articles from various sources. Your parents as the user they will be able to:

see various news sources on the homepage of the application
They can select a news source and see all the news articles from the selected news source in the application
They can see the image, description and time the news was created
They can click on an article and read the full article on the source website

SETUP/INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS

To get the source code of the project:

Clone the repository; git clone https://github.com/bethnduta/Flask-News-API.git
Go to your folder and install the requirements cd Flask-News-API pip install -r requirements.txt
Exporting configurations export your News API_KEY = '(enter your NEWS_API_KEY)
Running the application chmod a+x start.sh

./start.sh

Testing the application python3.9 manage.py test

open the application on your browser 127.0.0.1.5000

Known Bugs

There are some bugs in the project kindly pull make the corrections and push the changes to my repository.
