Documentation: https://bisq.wiki/Community_Manager
Team: @bisq-network/community-managers
Cycle 11 Report:
Twitter Spanish Account: Started following argentinian Bitcoin community influencers, adapted Make Market March tweets and replied some support-focused DM.
Also active at numerous subreddits, telegram (bisq_network, bisqenespanol and liquid_community).
#Pulse Keybase channel has the main findings from media. Users are still confused about Account Signing. want XMR as base curency, and some Liquid members don't know Bisq very well.
On Twitter and Bitcointalk as moderator.

#37
Italian Spanish Account: Make Market March, Retweets, DMs for questions regarding Bisq usage and started to create an italian-translated Tweet Marketing Campaign.
Telegram channels: Bisq Italia Telegram, Bitcoin Sicurezza Privacy, Bitcoin Italia, Bitcoin Fiat & Alt Trading.
Facebook groups: Bitcoin Italia, Bitcoin Italia n.2, Crypto Italia.
Subreddits: Bisq, Monero, Bitcoin.
Italian users are asking for an italian updated guide/videos on Bisq. Obsolete information on Bisq's mediation/arbitration method is often given. I propose to explain this concept better.
@bisq-network/community-managers, please title future cycle report comments as follows:
## Cycle 11 report
You'll see that this is the norm in the comments on most other role issues (and where it isn't, it should be). Doing this makes it easy identify cycle reports from feedback comments, and unambiguous to determine which cycle is being reported on. Thanks.
Please only post in this thread if you're assigned to this role. I've minimized the other comments that were recently posted here to keep this thread clear and relevant.
Community managers, as described in the role's documentation (linked here), have a specific mandate that is different from posting in forums and maintaining social channels.
Cycle 11 Report
I mainly followed Twitter and /r/bitcoin. Checked Telegram channels and /r/bisq sporadically but not enough to be useful. Will be opening issues related to quirks discovered by monitoring these channels.
In Cycle 12 I hope to broaden the channels I follow to make the most of this role.
Cycle 12 report
Twitter spanish account: Very low amount of tweets from the account, coronavirus is getting most of the attention. Information about the april 7th attack was provided on time.
Bisq related reddit activity was quite high before, during and also after the attack. Telegram channel was used to alert and inform about the attack.
Cycle 12 Report
Continued to follow Twitter and GitHub (need to figure out how to be better about communicating GitHub activity more broadly). Was also active across the forum, Telegram XMR channels, /r/monero, and /r/bitcoin to manage discussion about the incident.
Twitter: Halving bring attention to Bisq and with little amount of tweets, attention has been high.
Reddit and Telegram activity was normal.
The commercial created by Pedro got very nice critics on on all channels.
Cycle 13 Report
I wasn't terribly active here aside from Twitter in the past cycle. In practice @MwithM tends to alert me of need-to-know things either in the #pulse Keybase channel or privately.
As a result I won't request any compensation for this specific role, but I'll stay on it since my other work (e.g. twitter, blog, and growth calls) keep this role relevant for me.
Cycle 14 report
The twitter account has not been very active. Followers are growing at a steady pace.
Although it might be more related to support than growth, reddit and telegram (English and Spanish) did have more activity than usual. Not only at r/bisq but also other reddit channels that I'm monitorizing.
Cycle 14 Report
Pedro's video was excellent, otherwise, nothing notable to report. Will be more proactive as we produce more media.
Cycle 15 Report
Not much to say for this cycle, but a rudimentary media production plan is established and underway.
Cycle 16 report
- Twitter: I've been a little more active, informing about the Bisq Price Indices, v1.3.7, telegram Bisqbot and noticing good spot prices to buy with EUR.
- Telegram: In Spanish, a few support-related questions. In English, some support related questions as well, and redirected altcoiners. Also discovered the availability of Telegram group statistics (AFAIK only on mobile phone) that provides useful info like language from visitors or number of participants (which is declining).
- Reddit: Informed about new pricenodes. Again, high level of bisq mentions out of r/bisq.
Cycle 16 Report
Made a humble effort to produce more content this cycle.
- Video covering suggested deposits (to promote new software feature aimed at increasing confidence and reducing disputes)
- Wiki article on USPS money orders (to support heightened interest in the payment method)
- Wiki article on connecting Bisq to local full node (in response to common user questions)
Of course more wiki articles were written, but these 2 in particular were aimed at growth efforts and greater community awareness.
The Twitter video didn't do particularly well in terms of engagement. Need to play around to figure out what does better.
Cycle 17 report
Twitter: Informed about blog post trading trends, future Segwit support, new version features (XMR auto-confirmation). Also talked via DM with @ adolfo_ted to explain the value of BSQ. I proposed him to ask for Tipping hat compensation.
Telegram:People still relies on Telegram chat for support, I try to answer most simple questions (i.e. account limits and send the others to Keybase. There was a pretty sophisticated scam attempt from user with bisq.support Telegram account, demanding private keys to specific users. Telegram statistics display a continued and huge decline in number of users, but messages and readers has moderately increased or the same.
Reddit: Normality. I think I published a video about XMR autoconfirmation feature, but the post isn't there.
Cycle 17 Report
In this cycle, we published:
- post on trading trends, focusing on premiums paid and payment methods
- wiki article on running bisq on qubes
- wiki article for trading monero
- wiki article explaining a fix for hidpi devices
Also, a thread on /r/monero announcing the auto-confirm feature did quite well.
The inverse relationship between time spent on publishing and the return seems to continue, unfortunately. The post on trading trends got very little lift, for example. Need further tinkering to figure out what works best.
The post on trading trends got very little lift, for example.
Is Bisq expensive to trade with? is a very common question that can be answered with this article. Time spent on it might be a lot, but I think that even if it did not have a great impact, it's going to have a permanent use to explain why offers that you see on Bisq orderbook are not representative of the prices you're going to pay.
Cycle 18 report
Twitter: My activity wasn't very high, but due to an important mention due to Spanish regulation and v1.4 hype the visits have increased.
Telegram: Many support questions on telegram. I started replying anonymously, as just and admin of the group with the new Telegram's funciontality.
Reddit: I did a crosspost for Bisq v1.4.
Cycle 18 Report
Not a whole lot of new original publishing in this past cycle. Perhaps some new initiatives like the growth handbook and new issues with specific tasks (recently created) and hat-tip bounty might spur some inspiration and incentive for others to contribute.
Cycle 19 report
Twitter: Visits increased. To note, v1.5 tweets.
Telegram: Lots of support requests, activity is higher than at keybase support channel. Only reply general questions, personal or difficult are sent to Keybase.
Reddit: I don't only follow r/bisq but any Bisq mention. Segwit, price increase and privacy concerns increased a lot the number of times Bisq was metioned.
An interview between Criptobastardo and @flix1 is ongoing. I hope it helps Bisq grow in LATAM.
Cycle 19 Report
Much communication over past 3-4 weeks involved building excitement for 1.5.0 (segwit completion, new payment methods, new trade limits, etc) and conveying the changes once they were made.
Spearheading a new effort to segment publishing by market. First experiment is CAD in the first week of January.
Cycle 19 report
Twitter: Ledger user data lost, increasing legal trolling against BTC and current market rally increased Bisqes account impact. Promoted Amazon cards.
Telegram: Most important r/bisq posts are about integrating XMR wallet and needing BTC to buy BTC. I think there's increased Bisq activity at other channels for the same reasons as for Twitter. Banned a couple users that were insulting each other.
Reddit: There are scammers trying to give "support" to users via private messages. I'm rethinking about closing the group and make it a channel, but it's still a great tool for simple questions, bitcoiners are using Telegram a lot and a channel could not offer things that are not already available at the Twitter account.
I asked through Keybase to @luisantoniocrag the Youtube, Facebook and Medium Spanish channels credentials due to inactivity, but I got no answer yet.
Cycle 20 Report
Most notable effort is spreading awareness of the TransferWise and CAD liquidity week. First week of 2021 will see release of a variety of documentation, articles, and videos to capitalize on proof of keys day and recent news.
Cycle 20 report
Twitter: Proof of Keys and regulatory pressure increased the activity, which went back to normal a week ago. Summarized Q4 meeting in Spanish from main twitter account.
Telegram: @huey735 is now writing as anonymous admin. Activity has increased significantly (see below). Spam is quite annoying and scammers are free to engage with telegram users offering support.
Reddit: Activity at the beginning of the year was inusually high. Now it's much lower. Most upvoted threads are about XMR.
@luisantoniocrag gave me Youtube, Facebook and Medium Spanish credentials.
Cycle 21 Report
TransferWise and CAD liquidity week flopped as order books remained thin, so it didn't make sense to hype the markets with more publishing. Pedro put out a couple of nice podcast snippets. There is a modestly active presence on bitcoinhackers.org.
Cycle 22 report
Twitter: Followers grow at a good pace, while my activity has been lower than it should be.
Telegram: Activity keeps increasing, the topic of this cycle has been mining fees. Scammers try to send DM to users as "Official Bisq support".
Reddit: r/bisq had a normal activity, and mentions of Bisq on another channels has reduced a little bit. It's usually the main recommendation for non-kyc exchanges requests.
I joined the Bisq demo on Youtube, I might co-host it soon. bisq-network/growth#240
Cycle 22 Report
Trialled a new format for calls and it did quite well. Looking to host 2 more in the upcoming cycle. Not setting a concrete schedule just yet as I want these events to be determined by need and interest as opposed to mechanical routine.
I joined the Bisq demo on Youtube, I might co-host it soon.
MwithM might co-host the next one ๐
Cycle 23 report
Twitter: Although number of tweets is low, growth and impact is quite good.
Telegram: Activity has been stabilized. Spanish account it's been quite high instead, with some support requests. Shared this article after reviewing it.
Reddit: I don't recall anything special for reddit.
Not related to Community Management, but to Growth: I started to sell low amounts of BSQ with a bonded role, and set up some ground rules so others can follow. bisq-network/growth#243
Cycle 24 report
Twitter: 1000 followers. Small amount of tweets from my end, mentions are lower than previously too.
Telegram: Nothing really new, activity is normal, lots of spam and some bans because of unsocial behaviour.
Reddit: I asked to be admin because spam was not getting removed.
I was co-host at Bisq Demo 2.
Cycle 24 Report
There was another demo event this cycle. It focused on showing users how to update their Bisq hidden service address to Tor v3, and also went over the dispute resolution mechanism.
Final preparations for Bitcoin 2021 are underway now too.
@cbeams can we get @stopfeds assigned here as well? He started running a German Twitter account in this cycle.
Cycle 29 report
Twitter:
After building up a timeline with a few tweets (and an instant ban after the first tweet), the account went officially public on 23rd of October. So far 169 Followers and around 20 tweets. All in all +3k profile visits and 10 mentions.
Best tweets are about KYC bashing. Need to improve meme game. I'll start a 2 x 20 BSQ give-away on Saturday to gain more followers.
PS: Thank you for assigning and adding to the community managers!
@cbeams please unassign me from this role as well, as I report my activity in other issues.
Cycle 30 report
Twitter:
Again, tweets about KYC are the most popular ones. Of course also the BSQ Give-Away was pretty huge with around 10k impressions and 650 engagements. More than doubled follower count. Looking forward to the next weeks, I am pretty optimistic that we can reach more than 400 followers by EOY.
Cycle 31 report
Twitter:
I am having a few days off during Christmas holidays so there haven't been any tweets in the last 2 weeks. Also warned about updating to v1.8.0. follower base constantly growing.
Cycle 32 report
All the platforms were used to inform about bisq.chat as new support and communications channel.
Twitter: Normal volume, but big impact and followers growth. Reason: Tweet against trader protection laws and on the other hand, Lunaticoin asked where users buy with no KYC in Latin America, and Bisq was mentioned (thanks again to @flix1 for explaining what could be done to grow Bisq in that region).
Also, Twitter was used to chat with criptonoticias reporter who did this
Telegram: Normal use, mostly support issues.
Reddit: Regular activity. Following there's a table with monthly visitors.

Cycle 34 report
March wasn't that successfull in terms of KPIs although amount of tweets were nearly the same. Still +15% followers (641 now).
Most successful tweet: https://twitter.com/BisqDe/status/1503785863142158341
A lot of questions appear in discussions about Bisq. More and more people are learning about the cons of KYC Bitcoin.
Cycle 37 report
Sorry that I didn't report for a while but at least I tweeted here and there. 1000 followers is very very close. Quiet a few tweets went through the roof with a few thousand impressions. Here the statistics from June:

##Cycle 39 report
Twitter: German Bisq account has now over 1000 followers! I can also observe huge growth in the Eurozone and in German speaking countries. Bisq is casually mentioned as legimitate method to buy BTC in every single podcast, on formus, in Telegram groups and on Twitter.
Cycle 43 report
Twitter: Proof of Keys and informing about new version and issues generated.
https://t.me/bisq_p2p): Mostly support issues. Changed setup with a new feature, now regular users can't see who is member of the group.
Reddit: Mostly support issues.
Cycle 44 report
Twitter: Almost no activity.
https://t.me/bisq_p2p): Mostly support issues.
Reddit: Mostly support issues.

Telegram: Mostly support issues.
Reddit: Mostly support issues.
Cycle 55
It looks like a growth effort will be made soon with a new growth lead, which is nice.
I would not mind passing the Spanish media accounts to another contributor, if there is a voluntary.
