Is the job status (number of submissions ahead of mine) accurate?

Opened this issue · 3 comments

The script reports some 65,000 jobs ahead of mine from the API.

Checking the URL for the submission shows simply "Status: You're next!...", whereas submissions through the browser show an actual queue number, and there are typically around 5-10 jobs ahead of it.

Are submissions through the API posted to a different queue maybe? One which is currently 65000 jobs long? 😨

I unfortunately don't know the answer to this, sorry. When I created these scripts back in 2018 the queue lines were never that long. I haven't really used any of these scripts myself since 2018 so don't know if they even work as intended anymore.

The scripts were developed to comply with the usage instructions and examples show at http://phaster.ca/instructions#urlapi
Do you get the same results if you try to submit your jobs manually as shown in their examples?

I witness the issue with the discrepancy between the API and the web service also. Unfortunately, manually I did the job. However, if someone has thousands of sequences, what is the solution? I tried to use another tool named PhiSpy but not as good as PHASTER.

I did not find a solution and ended up running PhiSpy locally on a cluster to process many sequences. Although I did not find that it was worse than PHASTER.
