fairycomm
Fairycomm is both a platform and extension meant to help promote local businesses thrive. Fairycomm allows the user to input their zip code into the extension and suggests local products of the item you’re browsing on Amazon. Fairycomm also serves a central e-commerce hub for local businesses to share their products with the local community. We started by implementing the main site where local businesses can register or sign up for an account. After they have registered, they enter their dashboard where they can add, edit, or remove the products accessible to the local community. We created our website using Bootstrap for our front end framework and Express.js for our backend. We implemented a custom backend API route to handle our MongoDB calls, which are in charge of managing Fairycomm’s database transactions. Our database is stored on an Azure server through the MongoDB Atlas Cloud service and it was deployed through Azure Web-App services.
