bootcamp-extra-frontend
[REACT+RAILS] Bootcamp-Extra (frontend) is a knowledge-sharing platform for Flatiron student-users to post external resources circling curriculum-focused topics (Medium articles, YouTube tutorials, etc). Users will have the ability to comment on each post and "like" the post in order to move the post up in the rankings to gain more user visibility. This was a paired-programming product with Edgar Rivera for our ReactJS final project at the Flatiron School.
chance_app-frontend
[REACTJS]The Chance app was developed as a social networking platform where users can search a database of 7k+ charitable organizations to find more info and promote philanthropic endeavors. Members with logins can access charity events and opportunities and have the ability to follow and donate to an organization of their choice. They can also communicate with organizers regarding posted events/opportunities as well as view a list of followed charities and donation metrics for all donations the user has made in order to keep track of their tax-exempt receipts. This was developed as my Flatiron School solo final project submission. Demo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=duZ2nQ7YuPA
chance_backend
[RAILS] The Chance app backend API. The backend leverages the power of Rails to seed a database consisting of over 7k+ charity records from an imported JSON file (scraped from CharityNavigator API). The rails backend uses RESTful routing to deliver the data to the frontend ReactJS app to grant users access to all charity information.
covid-quest
A decision-based Ruby CLI game entitled "Covid Quest" where users encounter various obstacles and have to navigate through them by selecting from multiple options to further and potentially win the game. This project was co-developed with Liz Karen for our Ruby final project at the Flatiron School. DEMO: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sP5NZy2gHWA
hooks-widgets
This repo consists of mini app-widgets and a custom navigation that demonstrate my understanding and application of React 16 hooks (useState, useEffect, useRef.). The widgets include: Accordion form/menu, Controlled Wiki search (leveraging the Wiki API), re-useable Dropdown menu. The custom navigation was built from scratch, without using the standard React Router. It leverages eventListeners that track the window.history object to associate nav links to their respective components.
js-interacitve-os
JS Interactive OS is a vanilla JavaScript application that simulates the macOS UI. Users can perform a multitude of OS-based operations from signing in("stephen" or "jordan"), checking the weather, listening to music, writing notes, and playing a wide variety of games (ie- "Stop Trump" hangman), and more! Side panel includes a weather widget that pulls from an external weather app and a fully-functional calculator. This was build as a pair-programming JS final project with Jordan Melidor while at the Flatiron School. DEMO: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5LOe7IiMgDs
react-kaiju-tracker
Originally a ReactJS lab provided by the Flatiron School. After completing the main deliverables, additional stretch features where added (sorting using radio button selections, drop-down menu filtering, and filtering based on nested data structures). This lab is intended to showcase a wide variety of ReactJS fundamentals.
