Overview

Welcome to the Online Bookshop Project! This project is a web-based bookshop application that allows users to browse, search, and purchase books online. It is built using Spring Boot for the backend and React for the frontend.

Features

  • User Authentication: Users can create accounts, log in, and log out. Authentication ensures secure access to user-specific features.

  • Browse Books: Users can browse through a collection of books, view book details, and search for specific titles or authors.

  • Shopping Cart: Users can add books to their shopping cart and proceed to checkout.

  • Order Management: Admins can manage orders, mark orders as shipped, and view order history.

Getting Started

Prerequisites

  • Java 17
  • Node.js 8.17
  • npm (Node Package Manager)

Installation

  1. Backend (Spring Boot):

    • Clone the repository.
    • Open the backend folder in your preferred IDE.
    • Run the Spring Boot application.
  2. Frontend (React):

    • Open the frontend folder in your terminal.
    • Run npm install to install the necessary dependencies.
    • Run npm start to start the React development server.
  3. Accessing the Application:

    • Open your browser and navigate to http://localhost:3000 to access the online bookshop.

The project is divided into two main components:

  • Backend (Spring Boot):

    • The backend code is located in the backend folder.
    • Controllers, services, and repositories are organized to handle various functionalities.
  • Frontend (React):
