Whole-number money calculations to arbitrary precision

Primary LanguageRuby

= little_money

* https://github.com/robrasmussen/little_money

== DESCRIPTION:
The problem: I needed non-floating point calculations to 4 decimal places.
Much like the money gem, this gem allows you to avoid floating point
errors by performing calculations using whole numbers. Unlike the money
gem, this one supports an arbitrary number of decimal places for things
with sub-cent prices (commodities, etc.)

== FEATURES/PROBLEMS:

Division is floating point, but I didn't need division.

== SYNOPSIS:

See tests for examples. Quickly:

LittleMoney.parse('1.2408') +
LittleMoney.parse('5.4')).round(3).to_s(:dollar) #=> $6.641
