Hangup at Audio Transcoding

Closed this issue · 13 comments

I'm getting a hang-up processing an ISO, it generally gets to some part of transcoding audio and then just stops -- no crash, no errors, and the app isn't frozen or unresponsive.

Here's what's in the folder. The most recently modified item was Hugo 3D_audio_AAC.mov, 2 hours ago from this post.

This is the third attempt to rip the ISO, which I have verified plays in a software BD player, 2nd attempt on v0.2.116. I'm going to try a different ISO right now to see if it hangs on that.

Ran a different ISO last night, and it hangs at the same place:

I noticed the same issue. After combining it runs the upscale script and after that completes it just stops without any error message.

Thank you. I'm sure you noticed I moved the Upscaling to after the combining. It works better that way. I must have introduced a bug at some point though.

That brings up a point. I need a way to test without encoding a long movie. Can someone create me a 3 minute long ISO with multiple audio and sub tracks? Ideally non English first and forced subs? That way I can test releases better. I tried creating one in tsmux, but it came out as not ripable. I'm not sure what I did wrong.

I will look for a short Iso

I think I was able to get a short iso from tsmux. It created an output file in about two minutes. I found that if the output file exists and you do not have overwrite checked, it will fail silently. I am correcting that now. Is it possible that is your issue? @mikemonello @Samckatz

I found another issue where if the audio stream doesn't have a channel layout defined, it may fail silently. This may be your issues.

New prerelease is up. I'm hoping this at least gives an error message if it fails.

It's def not related to the output file, I always delete any files from failed attempts before trying again, and Hugo fail was a first-time attempt so there were no existing files.

@mikemonello hopefully new prerelease either fixes your issue or tells us what it is.

It completed a conversion but the file has the original playing/scrolling issues. I opened a new issue since its no longer hanging at audio transcoding or subtitles.

I got a successful rip when I did NOT transcode audio, so I hope that narrows things down.
