Software Engineer @ Beyond Essential Systems (September 2021 - Present)

Worked in a 20 person engineering team primarily on Tupaia, an open source data collection, reporting and visualisation web platform for health organisations in low-income settings.

  • Programmed across mono repository, including micro-services, orchestration servers and three front-end packages
  • Worked with both Redux and React Query (ie Tan Query)
  • Managed changes to external REST api service integration
  • Managed releases on rotation
  • Wrote and maintained developer documentation
  • Technologies used: React, TypeScript, Postgres, SQL, Jest, Chai, HTML, CSS, material-ui, Storybook, expressjs, knex
  • Platforms used: AWS (including console, EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda), Github, Linear

Project Manager @ RMIT University (March 2020 - December 2020)

  • Managed the transformation of the new College of Vocational Education.
  • Managed the Learning and Teaching response to the COVID-19 pandemic in the College of Science Health and Engineering.

IT Project Manager @ Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (December 2015 - March 2020)

VTAC's core business is a centralised University application system. It is lesser known as the developer of B2C, B2B, SaaS and CRM products.

  • Managed the design and implementation of a ~$900K direct admissions platform project
  • Prepared detailed highlight reports for Portfolio Board and Management Committee
  • Developed strong relationships with project owners
  • Engage key stakeholders to develop deep understanding of requirements and success criteria
  • Led Project Management Office staff and managed risks across organisation portfolio
  • Worked closely with academic registrars, admissions managers, selection officers, software developers, designers and other staff at various organisational levels
