My iPhone 6s has a problem. Every once in a while, it thinks it's in Union Square in San Francisco. Specifically at the corner of Geary and Powell.
When it's in this state, my location never changes and I can't get driving directions. The only way I've found to resolve it is to reboot the phone.
The Genius Bar has already given me a new phone, so it's almost certainly not a hardware problem, and they had me restore from an iCloud backup to try to rule out a local software corruption.
But the problem keeps coming back. So I created this app to do one thing--if it detects I'm at that corner, it sends me a local notification. That way when I get the notification, hopefully I can start to narrow in on a cause.
I have not come across anyone else with this problem. If you've experienced it, please let me know and feel free to try out the app to see if it helps you find the cause. I'd also love to know if your phone is also stuck in Union Square, or some other random location.
