dotfiles
It's my dot files. Drop them into a home directory and enjoy. I try to make them work consistently across my Mac, Windows/Cygwin, and CentOS boxes. Generally, I've tested on those 3 platforms.
bash
- defines a custom prompt that I like
- disables ^D exit so that I don't exit accidentally from a fat finger
- alias common commands to use the options I like
- several platform-specific hacks to try to make things as consistent as possible across different machines
- prompt shows source control system and branch of current directory if applicable
emacs
- lots of random tweaks (easier to just read comments in .emacs)
ssh
- uses ServerAliveInterval to keep a dormant ssh connection alive
- maps server-specific keys for a few hosts
vim
- totally stole this .vimrc from the web, not sure of the features
