The thinking behind this small repo is to do what I always tend to do, which is drop down to the simplest case for the purpose of understanding how a thing works as well as being able to communicate that with others.
This very simple case use of Azure IoT Hub uses the Node.js SDK. It contains no error checking or other production considerations, but rather does the bare minimum end-to-end scenario of an IoT device both talking to as well as listening to an Azure IoT Hub service.

node .You'll need an IoT Hub in Azure for this to work. Go to portal.azure.com, log in to your subscription, and create one.
Before this demo will work, you'll need to create an IoT Hub in Azure, add the connection string for the service access policy to the /service/index.js file, then create register a device with Azure called device1 and add its connection string to the /device/index.js file.
Then run the service by going to the project root in your terminal and typing node service and then (in a new terminal window) node device.
You should see D2C and C2D messages going back and forth.
