or-east
is an experimental package that extends org-roam to support new Properties which
update dynamically during natural use of the Org Roam Instance.
This package is experimental, so install it however seems fit. Once installed, enable
extended attribute stat tracking by activating or-east-mode
.
(use-package! or-east-mode)
(add-hook org-mode-hook (or-east-mode 1))
The project currently supports 3 additional properties at the file level. The default datestring is of the form “MM/DD/YY” resulting from the “%D” format string.
- last-accessed
- The last time this node was directly accessed. That is, when was the
last time this node was opened with
org-roam-find-file
. - last-linked
- The last time another node linked to this node.
- last-modified
- The last time the contents of this node were updated, excluding the
node’s properties themselves. This works by creating a
buffer-hash
of the node contents after the Property drawer ends.
- Support nodes below the file level
- Currently only nodes stored at the file level (
#+title
level nodes) update their accessed/linked/modified times dynamically; any valid Org Roam node should be supported.
- Currently only nodes stored at the file level (
- Add groups for update types
- For example, adding a new field & its update function to a group that triggers property updates upon node insertion.
- In general, allow easy addition of new properties & their update behavior based on existing update triggers
- Current hooks used:
org-roam-find-file-hook
for access time & modification time check,org-roam-post-node-insert-hook
for last-linked time, andafter-save-hook
to check modification time with each save.
