Introduction

Go is a general-purpose language designed with systems programming in mind. It is strongly typed and garbage-collected and has explicit support for concurrent programming. Programs are constructed from packages, whose properties allow efficient management of dependencies.

Installation

Getting started with GoLang is simple. 

  • Download Go
  1. Identify your operating system.
  2. Go to GoLang's official download page and download the appropriate version: https://go.dev/dl/
  3. Follow the instructions relating to your operating system. 
  4. Follow the instructions on the download manager file.
  5. Check if Go was installed by typing "go version" on your terminal.
  • Choose your favorite IDE and start coding. 
  • If you don't want to go through the process of setting your local development environment, you can run some simple code on the Go Playground
