provenance of downloads

Opened this issue · 1 comments

So far a download does not register how the image was created.

The screenshot shows an option how this feature could be implemented. This might be less accessible for less digital literates, but cluttering the image might not be a good idea.

Questions for @d-bl/gf

  • What title to give to each of the seven diagram downloads? (3 pair, 3 thread, 1 pattern aka prototype)
  • Inkscape does not show the created date in its form. In my opinion the nuance of that fact is relevant. Whenever the website changes significantly, you might need to set the master branch of a website-fork to that date to reconstruct the generated pattern. Perhaps add both dates with the same value?
  • @veronika Does the Inkscape template somehow cater for a comment line to contain the URI?
  • Can the plugin also add some provenance? Document metadata might not be a good candidate. Users may generate and replace several attempts or generate multiple grids in a single document. Adding the metadata would be no problem, but deleting would be. Likewise the provenance for the diagram downloads gets lost when users copy-paste between documents.
