I use this to hold any programs I make, so that they're easy for me to install on my own system. I have a hard time imagining anyone other than myself actually wanting to use this, but hey, if that's you, awesome!
If this is your first time ever adding a funtoo (or gentoo) overlay, then, well, you should totally read up on those. But if you don't want to think about any of that right now, here's an easy how-to:
Create a new file called /etc/portage/repos.conf/matts-funtoo-overlay
:
[matts-funtoo-overlay]
location = /usr/local/overlay/matts-funtoo-overlay
sync-type = git
sync-uri = git://github.com/daaang/matts-funtoo-overlay.git
auto-sync = yes
Or, if /etc/portage/repos.conf
is a file instead of a directory, then
you can just add those lines to it. Feel free to change the location to
wherever you prefer if you don't like mine.
All that's left is to run emerge --sync
, and this will be pulled in
with everything else!
