The RotorHazard project provides a cheap way to setup a FPV drone race lap timing system with the popular Raspberry PI micro computer and a few other cheap bits of hardware.

This project provides a YOCTO setup to achieve the following:

  • simpler setup, instead of tweaking an official Raspian distribution and installing several software packages and modify configuration files distributed over the whole system, just flash & go.
  • simplified configuration with just the laptimer configuration itself (config.json) and a system-wide configuration (system.conf) for things like wireless network, hostname, root password etc.

Running an Access Point (AP)

This is the default setup for the system. The SSID is equal to the hostname and the IP is 192.168.0.1. The range of clients configured via DHCP is 192.168.0.20 to 192.168.0.254.
