This work seeks to make an LDA analysis of the state of the union speeches by Chilean presidents since 1926 to 2015. As this project is done as a course requirement at a Chilean university, code comments and report are in spanish. The method is implemented in python in the jupyter notebook named LDA_state_of_the_union.ipynb in the scripts folder. Speeches are stored in the corpus folder.

Este trabajo persigue un doble objetivo. Por un lado busca estudiar el efecto de las ides en el crecimiento economico, en linea a lo que hace Bjørnskov (2005) pero longitudinalmente, es decir, a lo largo de la historia de Chile. Por otro lado, busca medir el efecto de la evolucion de ciertos conceptos económico/culturales en el crecimiento economico.
