long-term average precip (summer mm)?

Opened this issue · 1 comments

do you know if we can get this for each catchment (or for a huc)? I see that there are monthly precip variables (i.e., aug_prcp_mm) in sheds db, but we need to know over what time scale this is for. Is this the long-term median, mean? or a prediction for a particular year (or set of years) - help?

just trying to think through what the exceedingly dry variable will be...

also - i'm assuming we'll use the upstream vale for this predictor, but just need clarification of what it is exactly....

You’d have to check Kyle’s documentation to be sure but I believe the monthly precip in the covariate table are 30-year norms from PRISM. For particularly years, I grab all the daily data from the daymet table and summarize to the time periods I need. If we think about various metrics, I can calculate them from daymet (34 year record). We’d have to use other sources not in the sheds database to get longer term patterns.
