Canning Heroes GE

Canning Heroes is a 1–4-player cooperative game about food preservation. The game is designed to be played on a touch screen that is shared among all players. How many veggies can you can?

This is a reimplementation of Canning Heroes, which was developed by a multidisciplinary undergraduate team at Ball State University, working with Minnetrista, as part of an immersive learning project in Spring 2019. The original release was developed exclusively for installation on a digital table in the Oakhurst home at Minnetrista and can be found on itch.io.

Building

This project was built using Godot Engine using a project organization inspired by GDQuest's Best Practices for GDScript recommendations. The build script can be used to build the HTML5 target from the Linux command line and also increment the build number; [the deploy script] will build the target using the build script and push the result to GitHub Pages.

Assets

This project uses the same assets as the original. Slackey and OpenSans are used under Apache License 2.0. The button click sound is used under CC0.

License

Like the original, this open source project is licensed under the GNU General Public License. This means that you can download the source code, tinker with it, learn from it, and reuse it, as long as the changes and derivatives work you made are also shared back with the community.
