Four Perceptual Color Ramps for Tableau

Magma | Inferno | Plasma | Viridis

These four perceptual color ramps are found in the preferences.txt file in this repository, and can be cut and pasted into the Preferences.tps file in your My Tableau Repository folder. They are ordered-sequential color palettes in Tableau, and are coded as such in the file.

They were based on matplotlib colormaps by Nathaniel J. Smith, Stefan van der Walt, and (in the case of viridis) Eric Firing.

This file and the colormaps in it are released under the CC0 license / public domain dedication. We would appreciate credit if you use or redistribute these colormaps, but do not impose any legal restrictions.

To the extent possible under law, the persons who associated CC0 with mpl-colormaps have waived all copyright and related or neighboring rights to mpl-colormaps.

You should have received a copy of the CC0 legalcode along with this work. If not, see http://creativecommons.org/publicdomain/zero/1.0/.

color brewer for tableau

These are the palettes created for the ColorBrewer tool by Cynthia Brewer, Mark Harrower and The Pennsylvania State University. These are found in the colorbrewer-for-tableau file in this repository, and can be cut and pasted into the Preferences.tps file in your My Tableau Repository folder. They are regular, ordered-diverging, and ordered-sequential color palettes in Tableau, and are coded as such in the file.

The naming convention for each palette is to use the general palette name, followed by a hyphen, followed by the number of distinct color values encoded in that palette.

Colors from www.ColorBrewer.org by Cynthia A. Brewer, Geography, Pennsylvania State University.
