Setup layouts

Place to /usr/share/X11/xkb/symbols/ files:

RUU (Russian-Ukrainian United keyboard layout)

Russian with belarussian symbols in 3rd layout and disables alt button to be able to set alt button to layout changing

BY-RU layout

English (US, IBM Arabic 238_L)

English with point and comma as in Russian

EN

Setup terminal

Save:

dconf dump /org/gnome/terminal/ > gnome-terminal.properties

or use:

gnome-terminal.properties

Install:

cat gnome-terminal.properties | dconf load /org/gnome/terminal/

Setup fonts

Install fonts

• Better fonts
• Fira Code (from store)
• Microsoft Core Fonts
• Saved fonts to ~/.fonts

Setup zsh & ohmyzsh

sudo dnf install zsh util-linux-user
chsh -s /bin/zsh
rm ~/.bash_history ~/.bash_logout

Gnome extensions

• Unite

• Remove accessibility

Enable HiDPI in TTY

terminus-fonts-console and terminus-fonts-grub2 already installed

Add to /etc/vconsole.conf:

Copy font:

sudo cp /usr/share/grub/ter-u32n.pf2 /boot/efi/EFI/fedora/fonts/

Add to /etc/default/grub:

GRUB_FONT="/boot/efi/EFI/fedora/fonts/ter-u32n.pf2"
GRUB_TERMINAL_OUTPUT="gfxterm"

Rebuild GRUB:

sudo grub2-mkconfig -o /boot/efi/EFI/fedora/grub.cfg

sudo systemctl start systemd-vconsole-setup.service

Disable file system scanning

dconf write /org/freedesktop/tracker/miner/files/crawling-interval -2

Increase file descriptor limit

Add to /etc/sysctl.conf:

fs.inotify.max_user_watches=524288

Settings

• Notifictions: disable Lock Screen Notifications.
• Search: keep only Calculator, Software and Weather.
• Online Accounts: add Google account.
• Mouse & Touchpad: touchpad speed to 70%, enable Tap to Click.
• Users: set userpic.
• Region & Language: Belarus latin formats.
• Power Set power button behaviour to nothing, blank screen never.
• Accessibility Cursor size medium. Typing-Repeat Keys set lower delay, faster speed.
• Sound System sounds — mute.

Left only Telegram, Firefox, Nautilus, Terminal, VS Code in the dock.
