Invited tutorial on making stellar models for asteroseismology. Open the tutorial here.

Here we accomplish the following:

  • Download and install MESA
  • Run an evolutionary track of a 1 M star
  • Calculate the frequencies of a stellar model using GYRE
  • Visualize the evolution in a python jupyter notebook, including:
    • HR diagram
    • Internal chemical composition
    • Propagation diagram
    • Echelle diagram
  • Calculate and visualize oscillation eigenfunctions
  • Calculate a grid of models of different masses
  • Visualize asteroseismic evolution of the grid in a CD diagram
