The puropse is tool is to allow easy integration between IDEs and wxWidgets installed via MSYS2 pacman from the mingw64 repository.

pacman -S mingw-w64-x86_64-toolchain
pacman -S mingw64/mingw-w64-x86_64-cmake
pacman -S git
pacman -S mingw64/mingw-w64-x86_64-wxmsw3.1
pacman -S mingw64/mingw-w64-x86_64-gdb

  • mingw64 cmake
  • git (placed under /usr/bin/git)

  • wx-config-msys2.exe
  • wx-config.exe

Using wx-config.exe

Use this executable when you are building your application against wxWidgets built locally as described here

Using wx-config-msys2.exe

Use this executable when you are building your application against wxWidgets installed using pacman on MSYS2 environment:

pacman -S mingw-w64-x86_64-wxWidgets

Producing link line

wx-config-msys2 --libs --prefix=C:\msys2\mingw64

Producing compiler flags

wx-config-msys2 --cflags --prefix=C:\msys2\mingw64

Other options

Compile with debug:

wx-config-msys2 --cflags --prefix=C:\msys2\mingw64 --debug
