Support scripts and patches for building and running ProtonBridge on Android in Termux

Primary LanguageShell

ProtonBridge Android (Termux)

ProtonBridge is now in official Termux repositories:

u0_a186@localhost:~$ pkg search proton-bridge
Checking availability of current mirror: ok
Sorting... Done
Full Text Search... Done
proton-bridge/stable,now 1.4.5 aarch64 [installed]
  ProtonMail Bridge application

You can install it and set up pass keychain:

pkg install pass proton-bridge
gpg --full-generate-keygpg --list-secret-keys
pass init $(gpg --list-secret-keys | grep ^sec -A1 | tail -n1 | sed -e 's/^[[:space:]]*//')
printf "\n\n" | pass insert test/test

Then unlock the keychain and run it:

pass test/test && proton-bridge --cli

(Custom Build) ProtonBridge Android (Termux)

Support scripts and patches for building and running ProtonBridge on Android in Termux.

Features:

Howto

bootstrap.sh

Downlads everything to build and run ProtonBridge including sources for which it applies patches. Sets up pgp and pass during - it interactively asks for informations.

build.sh

Builds ProtonBridge.

run.sh

Runs ProtonBridge including unlocking pass keychain. It can be launched from anywhere.

update.sh

(TODO) Updates to the latest version.

Setting up ProtonBridge

Use login to set up account list to list account status, info for getting credentials, change for switching between combined/split mode. Use help for other commands.

Setting up K-9

Use info command to get the credentials. Both IMAP and SMTP runs on 127.0.0.1 and use STARTTLS. IMAP uses port 1143. SMTP uses port 1025.

Setting up Android

I suggest turning off Battery Optimization for the Termux application or it may (and will) be shut down regularly by system.

Prebuilt releases?

No. You will build it yourself.
