IranianFonts consisting of IranianSans and IranianSerif were licensed in 2007 by Iranian National Initiative for Free and Open Source Software which was part of the Supreme Council of ICT of Iran (SCICT). The fonts are designed by Hooman Mehr and Hadi Navid.
The Information Technology Organization of Iran (ito.gov.ir) has acquired the fonts and has issued an Open Font Licence (OFL) in 2022.
