A collection of single-purpose tools
This tool is intended to modify your professor's awful video recordings to something slightly more bearable. To be more precise, the tool is capable of:
- Removing silent parts
- Apply audio filtering like pop and click removal, high- and low-pass filters
- Normalize volume in case the levels are off
From the releases page or directly from the main source, download the butcher.sh
script and place it anywhere on your computer. Open a terminal in the same directory and you can start using it right away.
Upon first use, you might have to run the following command:
chmod +x ./butcher.sh
to make the file executable.
The tool can be operated in interactive or CLI mode. You can run interactive mode by typing
./butcher.sh -i
It will then start asking you questions about all necessary information.
In CLI mode, you just give all necessary parameters as options. Type ./butcher.sh --help
to see a list of available options and their description. Example:
./butcher.sh \
--install-deps \
--create-outdir \
--options removesilence,audiofilters \
./data/ \
./out/
butcher.sh has the following dependencies:
- ffmpeg
- ffpb
- python3
- pip3
- jumpcutter
- figlet
However, you do not need to install them manually, as the script will already do this for you automatically (simply answer y
when prompted or --install-deps
in CLI mode).
Changing defaults versions for llvm programs is tedious and time-consuming. This little script aims to make the process lighning-fast, by searching for all installed llvm programs and configuring them using update-alternatives
(so make sure that is installed)
As usual, before first use, you should execute chmod +x ./set-llvm-version.sh
to make it executable.
You can set the default version of all llvm programs (including clang, llc etc.) using the following command:
./set-llvm-version.sh --all XX
where XX
is the version number you want to set.
To set just a single program in the llvm family, use the --name <prog> <ver>
option.
The script will try to automatically figure out where llvm is installed. If it fails to do so, you can provide a custom installation directory with the --install-dir
option.
Simple script to generate random md5 hashes of arbitrary length. Simply download the script and make it executable with chmod +x random.sh
.
Invoke with
./random.sh <length>
If invoked with no arguments, default length is 8
.
