Dropped/Glitch Frame every so often

Closed this issue · 4 comments

I am getting a red or blue dropped frame that appears for one frame every 10 minutes or so. I have seen this with every OS from 10.8 on, on different machines, and on different cameras so I am thinking it may be this (lovely!) piece of software.

The blue sometimes red frame is seen further down the pipeline, in say another Syphon client so it is not just the display function in this app either.

I am trying to capture this in the wild via a recording at the moment...

It plays havoc with my OpenCV programs and is the only thing holding back these $10 cameras from being the best in the world.

Maybe someone else has seen this?

Hmm, can you tell me what kind of computer you use and what operating
system?

Sorry also if this happens at all frame rates.

I would need to test this and to be honest it is a piece of software I made
4 years ago for kicks at it stemmed from something else I needed to make so
it is not high on my priority. I would guess though that there this happens
as my software is trying to pull frames faster than the computer allows.
Not really sure. I did make an updated version for 10.10 but that was
really fast for someone else who needed a quick fix and some features were
removed (the gui did not save or load from saved settings).

MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013), // 10.10

2.6 GHz Intel Core i7 //16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

I will cross reference it with the new version and see if it persists.

25 Frames per second.

Personally, I think it is a great application. Syphon output and OSC controls is pretty forward leaning. It really makes it great for camera based installation art. The PS3 Eye is hackable. With the 3D printed parts and the lenses available now it is really a great tool. This piece of software really makes using them a breeze.

Hopefully this project will continue to be updated by the community.

Thanks,

This app is depreciated and the repo will no longer be updated, please see https://github.com/fred-dev/ps3EyeSyphon_2 for the new version.
