README

Catmosphere shows you the Air Quality Index (AQI) (www.airnowapi.org/) for your location with a cat that changes faces depending on the number to let you know whether the air is healthy or not. We also threw in the weather (www.wunderground.com) to make it even better.

What’s AQI?

AQI was developed by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to report ground-level ozone, particle pollution, carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, and nitrogen dioxide.

What do the numbers mean?

0-50 = Good

51-100 = Moderate

101-150 = Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups

151-200 = Unhealthy

201-300 = Very Unhealthy

301+ = Hazardous

How often are these numbers updated?

The numbers are updated every hour, so you’ll know if you need to wear a gas mask when you walk outside or not. We can’t help you in case of a zombie apocalypse though.
