Problem Statement: “Limited access to funding” and “inadequate support system” are the biggest challenges faced by women-owned businesses, according to Forbes. Build a platform that allows female business owners to publicize their businesses and include their story/inspiration behind how it started. By assigning a predefined category to which the business belongs, users can filter the list of categories according to their requirements.
Our Approach: We are creating a platform for women entrepreneurs to list their startup to get the recognition and funding they deserve! People here can invest in startups, list their own startup and get to know the latest news and insights of a startup.
Required Tech Stack: Django (Python Web Framework) and some REST APIs
- Clone the repository using the command below :
git clone https://github.com/Preet-Sojitra/finvest.git- Move into the directory where we have the project files :
cd finvest- Create a virtual environment :
# Let's install virtualenv first
pip install virtualenv
# Then we create our virtual environment
virtualenv envname- Activate the virtual environment :
Following command is for activating virtual environment for bash terminal
source envname\scripts\activate- Install the requirements :
pip install -r requirements.txtTo run the App, we use :
python3 manage.py runserver⚠ Then, the development server will be started at http://127.0.0.1:8000/

1. Fork this repository.
2. Clone your forked copy of the project.

3. Navigate to the project directory 📁 .
cd finvest
4. Add a reference(remote) to the original repository.
git remote add upstream https://github.com/Preet-Sojitra/finvest.git
5. Check the remotes for this repository.
git remote -v
6. Always take a pull from the upstream repository to your master branch to keep it at par with the main project(updated repository).
git pull upstream main
7. Create a new branch.
git checkout -b <your_branch_name>
8. Perfom your desired changes to the code base.
9. Track your changes:heavy_check_mark: .
git add .
10. Commit your changes .
git commit -m "enter Necessary message"
11. Push the committed changes in your feature branch to your remote repo.
git push -u origin <your_branch_name>
12. To create a pull request, click on compare and pull requests.
13. Add appropriate title and description to your pull request explaining your changes and efforts done.
14. Click on Create a Pull Request.
15 Voila!! You have made a PR to finvest. Wait for your submission to be accepted and your PR to be merged.
