This is a multi-author food blog. We also have a write-for-us page where people can apply to become an author for us.

Background

This project foodsteps is a project initiative introduced by Just-projects. it is a blog that has multi-author where people can signup to become an author.

  • User can access the site
  • user can search for recipes by tags
  • user can like a post and add comments
  • User can embed a disqus
  • user can decide to become an author, he/she would be required to fill the write-for-us page and include samples of articles
  • Authors are required to sign-in
  • Authors get access to admin site with login details
  • Authors can make a post

To set up your repo, kindly follow the steps below:

Fork and Clone Repository

  1. Visit the Repository to the Project on Github Website: "https://github.com/just-projects-team-7/foodsteps.git"

  2. Fork the repository: Click the "Fork" button on the upper right corner of the Repo page.

  3. Make a Local Clone: Clone the forked repository to your local machine (computer)

    • Click on the "Code" button on the Repo page
    • Copy the URL for the forked Repo "https://github.com/just-projects-team-7/foodsteps.git"
    • Create a Folder on your Local machine / Computer for the project Workspace
    • Open Command prompt / Terminal in the same folder location
    • In your Terminal, type: git clone url of the your forked repo
    • once you have cloned to the folder, start coding.
    • Add your changes using: git add . git remote add upstream https://github.com/just-projects-team-7/foodsteps.git
    • Create a new branch by following the following steps: git branch name of branch git branch --v git checkout branch name of branch
  • Commit to your branch using git commit.
  • Pull from the main branch to have recent updates
  • push to your branch using: git push origin name of branch
  • Create a pull request and request your code to be reviewed
  • Do not merge your code unless necessary
