What's the ETA for .NET aka .NET Core, instead of the outdated Mono .NET Framework v4?

Unity's Game Engine will be one of Apple's partners for AR/VR headsets.

It would be nice to use .NET 7, 8, 9, or perhaps 10 before 2025.
Can we please have at least an approximate release date announced, yet?
