Is it possible to get it in its own mode ASAP? It makes testing other parts of the code distinctly awkward

The mode-switching has to be implemented.

I think just being able to enable / disable the BlockUI, rather than the concept of a 'mode' the rest of the app is using

Wherever you want mate.

I'd suggest somewhere on the border between the programtextui and the stackUI for now
