This project is the code developed to evaluate the algorithms created for safety and mobility measure estimation using Basic Safety Messages for the National Cooperative Highway Research Program, Transportation Research Board of The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine's 03-137: Algorithms to Convert Basic Safety Messages into Traffic Measures research project. A detailed description of the methodologies can be found in the project final report. The source code is divided into two folders Mobility Algorithms developed by Noblis and Safety Algorithms developed by New York University C2SMART University Transportation Center under the lead of Noblis. README files are included in each folder that provide additional details on prerequisites, usage and notes.

The National Cooperative Research Program (NCHRP) produces ready-to-implement solutions to the challenges facing transportation professionals. NCHRP is sponsored by the individual state departments of transportation of the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials. NCHRP is administered by the Transportation Research Board (TRB), part of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, under a Cooperative Agreement with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). Any opinions and conclusions expressed or implied in resulting research products are those of the individuals and organizations who performed the research and are not necessarily those of TRB; the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine; FHWA; or NCHRP sponsors. The source code herein was developed under NCHRP Project 03-137 (http://apps.trb.org/cmsfeed/TRBNetProjectDisplay.asp?ProjectID=4550).
