Hi,
Getting an odd error when trying to run bootEGA. I haven't tried to establish a socket connection.
Error in socketConnection("localhost", port = port, server = TRUE, blocking = TRUE, :
cannot open the connection
In addition: Warning message:
In socketConnection("localhost", port = port, server = TRUE, blocking = TRUE, :
port 11965 cannot be opened
Error in socketConnection("localhost", port = port, server = TRUE, blocking = TRUE, :
cannot open the connection
In addition: Warning message:
In socketConnection("localhost", port = port, server = TRUE, blocking = TRUE, :
port 11965 cannot be opened

Hi, thanks for your message.
The bootEGA function automatically implements a paralellization to run.
Could you, please, send me the code you used? Maybe if you decrease the
number of bootstraps to 100, for example, will help. Also, how many
variables do you have in your dataset? And how many cores does your
laptop/computer has?
Cheers, Hudson

Hi,
Thanks for your reply, it is a large dataset with 45 variables, dropping it
n=100 and specifying my cores results in the same error. I am running it on
my laptop, so I'll try it on my work computer tomorrow.
Thanks
Ciaran

Hun... not sure why you are having this problem.
Do you have missing data? If yes, use na.omit(your data here). This may be
the problem!
If you can’t find a way to run it, you can sent me your data, and I’ll see
if I can discover what’s causing this problem.
Cheers
