Widgets and Shortcodes

Wondering if you have thoughts on adding example code on how to incorporate adding a widget and a shortcode (with media button) to this plugin starter?

If not, could you point me to a quality tutorial? :)

I won't add something like that to this plugin template as that kind of functionality isn't really generic enough. I don't know of any specific tutorials about that kind of thing, but I know WPBeginner is a great place to look for tutorials like that: http://www.wpbeginner.com/ - they might not have what you want, but they're a good place to start looking.
