Faster 3D segmentation algorithm ideal for image stacks of cortical neurones implemented as a ImageJ plugin, using slice-by-slice canny edge canny detection followed by specialised two-pass connected-component component labelling. Somas are labelled using openCV's blob detector and filtered/localised using distance-based clustering. BRISK feature detection is used to perform evaluation with existing manual or semi-manual tracing platforms.
