Voxel Weapons for Doom VR

A GZDoom voxel weapon mod for Doom/Heretic/Hexen/Strife/Chex by Ermac (https://www.reddit.com/user/iAmErmac)

By design, this mod should allow the Doom Voxel VR weapons working with the other map-packs and gameplay mods which don't change the monsters and weapon system too much from the vanilla Doom/Heretic/Hexen/Chex/Strife etc.

There are other optional weapon sets included, voxel pickup models, bullet tracer and particle/smoke (Enhanced mode) effects for the weapons available in the Voxel weapons Options. When enhanced mode is enabled, the Super Shotgun, Rocket Launcher, Plasma Rifle and BFG will have alt-fire enabled. In vanilla mode only BFG has alt-fire enabled (Doom beta BFG effect as alt-fire).

Installation

Always load this mod after the main wad and level wad so weapons can get replaced properly

To install:

Extract GZDoom-VR to a folder.
Copy original doom wads into the folder.
Copy this mod into the folder.
Run with gzdoomvr.exe -iwad zbloody_hell.wad -file LATEST_ZBLOOD_MOD LATEST_ZBLOOD_WEAPONS LATEST_ZBLOOD_VOXELS

Copy this mod into /sdcard/QuestZDoom/mods/
Load QuestZDoom Launcher. select this mod along with others mods

Recommended mods to combine with:

  • Voxel Doom:

    • Voxel doom replace all monster, weapons, props and items with fully 3d voxel models
  • VR Flashlight:

    • A flashlight that you can hold at your hand, or mount on weapons
  • Hyper-V:

    • Enables a lot of VR focused features such as positional melee attacks and item pulling
  • PyWeapon Wheel:

    • A weapon wheel adapted to use in VR
  • Gearbox:

    • Another weapon wheel mod to use in VR
  • DamNums:

    • DamNums is a pretty simple concept: shoot monsters and little numbers pop out that tell you how much damage you did
