Find out how to build a simple Hikers Watch app. Author Melvin Kisten tackles location classes, permissions and API's.

Instructions

  1. Make sure you have these installed

  2. Clone this repository into your local machine using the terminal (mac) or Gitbash (PC)

    > git clone https://github.com/iammelvink/hikers-watch.git

  3. Vist Google Cloud Platform Console and Sign Up or Sign In if you already have an account

  4. Copy your API key from Google Cloud Platform Console and paste at file : app\src\main\AndroidManifest.xml at the line where you see this YOUR_API_KEY:

    <meta-data
        android:name="com.google.android.geo.API_KEY"
        android:value="YOUR_API_KEY" />
  5. Run Android Studio and choose Open an existing Android Sudio project

  6. Press play button to run the app
