Elasticsearch Snapshot Cleanup Utilty

This utility cleans up snapshots stuck due to the Issue 5968.

Usage:

  • For the version 1.0.1 untar the tar.gz file into a temporary directory on a machine that has access to the cluster.
  • For the version 1.4.4 untar the tar.gz file into a temporary directory on a machine that has access to the cluster.
  • For all other versions update pom.xml file and appropriate elasticsearch and lucene version, run mvn clean package and untar the file found in the target/releases directory.
  • Modify config/elasticsearch.yml file with cluster connection settings.
  • Execute the script bin/cleanup
