An option is something like this "Clicking a branch":

After clicking "Clicking a branch", the field for the branch opens up with "master by default":

Discard selection of branch; the purpose of putting metadata in the repo is visibility, and anything in a different branch from main/master is mostly hidden.

Allow selection of name:

Modify front-end
Update API accordingly. Modify filename in endpoint POST /metadata/pull
