A demo for Infinispan integrating with Hawkular and Service Catalog

Introduction

This is a demo of Infinispan with Jolokia monitoring turned on.

The demo is based on https://hub.docker.com/r/slaskawi/infinispan-monitoring-demo/ Docker image.

What’s in the box

Images and templates used for this demo contain:

• Jolokia for Infinispan server

• Generating application and management realm password for Docker image

• Exposing Jolokia port for Docker image

• Consuming Jolokia information in Pods

• Service Catalog adjustments

• Expose route to the console

Demo flow

1. make start-openshift-with-catalog add-hosa add-templates

2. Make sure all pods are running in default namespace

3. Accept all Hawkular certificates

4. Deploy Infinispan

5. Scale it to 1 replica

6. Look at Jolokia console (keep the tab open)

7. Look at monitoring tab (keep the tab open)

8. run the client, notice how metrics changed

9. Scale it back to 3

10. Run the client again (notice how servers were added/removed to/from the connection pool)
