Controllable Sentence Simplification

This repository contains the original implementation of the ACCESS model (AudienCe-CEntric Sentence Simplification) presented in Controllable Sentence Simplification.

The version that was used at submission time is on branch submission.

Getting Started

Dependencies

  • Python 3.6

Installing

How to use

Evaluate the pretrained model on WikiLarge:

python scripts/evaluate.py

Simplify text with the pretrained model

python scripts/generate.py < my_file.complex

Train a model

python scripts/train.py

Pretrained model

The fairseq checkpoint of our model with the best scores can be found here. The model's output simplifications can be viewed on the EASSE HTML report.
