Any ROS 2 support in the future?

I'm currently working on a project that uses RTAB-Map and this looks really interesting. Currently using RTAB-Map with ROS 2 though. Do you know if there would be support for ROS 2 in the future? If not I think I might able to leverage the ros bridge to communicate between the two as a start. Do you have any insight into how difficult it would be to migrate this to ROS 2?
