parent class for rock or sediment in MaterialType vocabulary

Add. a class for ‘rock or sediment’ to account for drill core in the ocean or lakes. in SESAR data these are mapped to ‘Mixed soil, sediment or rock’, but the intention of that class was for drill cuttings or dredge hauls, where everything is mixed.

Is this different from earthmaterial? "Undifferentiated, soil, sediment, rock, or natural particulates ..."

the undifferentiated is like "A and B and C"--mixed stuff, the new class is like "B or C"--its one or the other, we don't know.
