Welcome to the Currency Converter! This Java program allows you to convert between different currencies: USD (United States Dollar), EUR (Euro), GBP (British Pound), and JPY (Japanese Yen).

Conversion Rates The program uses the following conversion rates:

USD to Other Currencies

  • 1 USD = 0.85 EUR
  • 1 USD = 0.75 GBP
  • 1 USD = 110.0 JPY

EUR to Other Currencies

  • 1 EUR = 1.18 USD
  • 1 EUR = 0.88 GBP
  • 1 EUR = 129.09 JPY

GBP to Other Currencies

  • 1 GBP = 1.33 USD
  • 1 GBP = 1.13 EUR
  • 1 GBP = 146.25 JPY

JPY to Other Currencies

  • 1 JPY = 0.0091 USD
  • 1 JPY = 0.0078 EUR
  • 1 JPY = 0.0068 GBP

Getting Started Prerequisites

  • Java Development Kit (JDK) installed.
  • An IDE or text editor to edit and run the Java program.

Running the Program

  1. Clone this repository to your local machine: git clone https://github.com/yourusername/currency-converter.git
  2. Open the project in your IDE or text editor.
  3. Compile and run the currencyConvertor class.

Usage

  1. When you run the program, you will see a welcome message and a prompt to type "start" to begin or "exit" to end.
  2. Follow the instructions to select the currency you want to convert from and to enter the amount you want to convert.
  3. Enter the target currency and view the converted amount.
